The Office: New Characters in Dwight Spin-Off

TVLine.com has learned some details about the upcoming Dwight-centric Office spin-off, The Farm.

Dwight, after inheriting a large family farm/bed and breakfast, will leave Dunder Mifflin behind and in the first episode/potential pilot (which will air as an episode of The Office in Season 9) Dwight will have to convince his brother and sister to run the B&B with him. Right now casting is underway for an entire new set of supporting characters. Here are the descriptions of Dwight's Farmers and Farmettes.

FANNIE SCHRUTE - "Attractive, urban and in her late 20s/early 30s, Dwight’s younger sister fled the Schrute farm life for Boston as soon as she could, and has had little to do with her roots for quite some time. Now divorced with one son, Fannie is 'a bit of a pseudo-intellectual lefty' with an ironic sense of humor and a great heart."

JEB SCHRUTE - "Dwight’s easygoing thirtysomething brother hasn’t done well in any of the career paths he’s followed – worm breeder and Bigfoot hunter among them — but has found some success with a pot farm. He’s got none of Dwight’s dedication or work ethic, but he has made an exercise video about things you can do with a knife and a canoe."

CAMERON WHITMAN - "Dwight’s smart and slightly weird 9-year-old nephew (Fannie’s son) is a cosmopolitan lad who nevertheless feels the pull of his Schrute heritage, especially when he’s around someone — his uncles, perhaps? — who can offer the fatherly guidance he lacks."

HEINRICH MANHEIM - "The Schrute siblings’ great uncle is charming, greedy, manipulative… and just may have had to spend time in Argentina following World War II, thanks to his German National Socialist roots. Oh, and he vows to kill Dwight by the end of the first episode."

Since the once-in-a-while Office role of Dwight's cousin Mose was played by former Office co-EP Michael Schur (who now runs Parks and Recreation), it's not known at this time if the character will appear on The Farm.

E3 2012: Exclusive Far Cry 3 DLC Coming to PS3

At Sony's E3 2012 Playstation press conference, Ubisoft announced in passing that the Playstation 3 version of Far Cry 3 will receive "exclusive DLC." No additional details have yet been announced. With its emphasis on cooperative and competitive multiplayer, it seems likely that multiplayer map and/or skin DLC is likely planned, although we will just have to wait and see what DLC plans Ubisoft has for its upcoming "insane" FPS.

In the meantime gamers eager for more on Far Cry 3 can read IGN's extensive single-player impressions.

Diablo 3 on PlayStation 3 Listed By Retailer

Diablo 3 on PlayStation 3 has been listed by German online retailer RedCoon.

Product details state the game will offer "Multiplayer support via Battle.net, with opportunities for cooperative and competitive" play. The game is not listed for Xbox 360. If authentic, this could be simply be an oversight, or perhaps an indication the console version Diablo III could be a PS3 exclusive.

There have been rumours of Blizzard's RPG coming to consoles for a while now. Last year a job listing appeared on Blizzard's site for a "Senior Producer, Console ". And earlier this year, Blizzard community manager Micah “Bashiok” Whipple said on Twitter that Josh Mosqueira - the game's lead designer - was also leading the Diable console project. Blizzard was quick to downplay a console version of Diable, however, saying that Bashiok's tweet was merely "confirmation that we’re actively exploring the possibility of developing a console version of Diablo III, as we’ve mentioned in the past,” and "not a confirmation that Diablo III is coming to any console platform.”

If this is more than a simple mistake, expect details at Sony's E3 Press Conference today Sony (6.00pm PST/9.00pm EST/2.00am BST/3.00am CEST/11.00am AEST).

Iron Man 3: What Takes Him to China?

New purported plot details for Iron Man 3 reveal the role China plays in the Marvel sequel. Just in case these rumors prove true then consider this a SPOILER warning.

We've known for awhile that Infernal Affairs and House of Flying Daggers star Andy Lau was going to be in Iron Man 3. Now this Andy Lau fan site points out a video report from China's Apple Daily that claims Lau will play a friend of Tony Stark's in China who will help him in his battle against the Mandarin.

The report further claims Iron Man has come to China to rescue a friend's daughter who was kidnapped in America and brought overseas. Chinese actresses Bingbing Fan is said to have been cast as Lau's wife and Yang Mi as his assistant.

The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley's not-so-secret villain role) has reportedly been altered from his comic book roots so as to not harm the Chinese image. (Iron Man 3 is a Chinese co-production.)

Iron Man 3 begins shooting in North Carolina before moving on to Beijing and Shanghai. The movie will reportedly see Iron Man fly over the Great Wall of China, the National Palace Museum and various landmarks in Shanghai.

Thanks to Latino Review and CBM for the head's-up!

Elder Scrolls Online Faction Daggerfall Covenant Detailed Ads By Google » Blog Tags Today's Most Popular Videos »

Elder Scrolls Online Faction Daggerfall Covenant Detailed

There are three playable factions spread across the land in the newly revealed Elder Scrolls Online, and today we have the first details on one of them: the Daggerfall Covenant. Made up of Bretons, Reguards, and orcs, this faction is largely based in and around the regions of High Rock, where the capital city of Daggerfall can be found, and Hammerfell.

High Rock is the region situated to the west and slightly south of Skyrim. It's more southerly, coastal location results in a much more temperate climate than the frozen tundras to the north. Bretons and orcs dwell here, primarily. Hammerfell sits to the south of both High Rock and Skyrim, a region composed primarily of deserts, mountains, and flat grasslands. The Redguards call this region home, having built up its multiple cities and ports.

The Game Informer feature revealing all of these new Elder Scrolls Online details says that the Daggerfall Covenent is "a lot more democratic than" the other factions. The next faction to be highlighted is the "ruthless" Aldmeri Dominion, so stay tuned for added details soon.

Company Of Heroes 2 Fights Nazis On The Russian Front In Early 2013 Ads By Google » Blog Tags Today's Most Popular Videos »

Company Of Heroes 2 Fights Nazis On The Russian Front In Early 2013

We already know that an upcoming issue of PC Gamer (UK edition) will cover the first details of Relic Entertainment's Company of Heroes 2, but now THQ confirms it in an official press release that outs the game for an early 2013 launch. The sequel will stick to its predecessor's World War II setting, though the action will now be moving out of Western Europe and over to the front lines in Russia.

The original Company of Heroes remains one of the strongest and most immediately accessible real-time strategy games around. Its strong focus on small unit tactics and control point-based map conquests offered lots of good times. The sequel's focus on the Eastern Front will leverage the power of the new Essence 3.0 Engine and introduce new features like Dynamic Battle Tactics and Commander Abilities. Look for more info on Company of Heroes 2 soon.
