Comic-Con: Behold - The Jar Jar in Carbonite Action Figure!

Tomorrow morning I leave for Comic-Con and I'm currently swamped with last minute prep - but I felt I had to post something about the awesome Hasbro Star Wars Comic-Con exclusive that arrived yesterday.

The hexagon-shaped box features a new action figure from each film in the series, in a box meant to evoke the famous carbon freezing chamber from The Empire Strikes Back. The action figure cards are a fun "What If?" choice, based on a design Kenner considered but didn't go with back in the day, using the alternate Star Wars logo seen on other merchandise at time. The selection of characters is something of a hodgepodge: Jar Jar Binks for Phantom Menace, a Clone Trooper Lieutenant for Attack of the Clones, a Shock Trooper for Revenge of the Sith, a Sandtrooper for A New Hope, Princess Leia (in her Bespin outfit) for The Empire Strikes Back and Darth Vader (looking all, "Oh crap, I just got Force Lightninged") for Return of the Jedi. There's a bit of a theme with the three generations of Stormtroopers, but the other three don't really match.

Overall though, this is a great followup to last year's SDCC exclusive, which had another "Could have been" bit of packaging, with the Revenge of the Sith carded figures inside a Death Star-shaped case.

But the most fun draw for the carbonite freezer set is the hidden seventh figure it comes with. Which is revealed by opening a panel on the top of the box, by pulling out the Phantom Menace title piece...

Wait for it...

And it's...

That's right, it's a Jar Jar in Carbonite action figure! Oh, glorious day.

This very special and amusing Star Wars set is available at San Diego Comic-Con at the Hasbro booth. Suffice to say, expect some serious lines.

The Ville, ChefVille Are Zynga’s Next Social Games

Zynga has revealed the two newest entries in its Ville series: The Ville and ChefVille.

Coming tomorrow, The Ville is Zynga’s “house and people” game and allows players to build a whole life for themselves, including a house, career and even their own appearance. Players will be able to throw parties and invite their friends, leading Zynga to call the game its “most social game to date.”

Players will unlock new objects for their home as they level up and will interact with other players to build relationships. Interactions are key, and Zynga notes that the more people you talk to, the more happiness you’ll build up in-game. The Ville will be available on Facebook tomorrow and will be coming to Zynga.com “soon.”

Meanwhile, Zynga also revealed ChefVille, a new restaurant sim that “uses food to bring friends and family together.” Players will be able to create their own kitchen and build a restaurant by combining multiple ingredients to create new dishes. Each recipe a player creates will be emailed to them, allowing them to try the dish in real life for what Zynga calls a “Game to Table experience.” ChefVille will come to Facebook in addition to Zynga.com.

Beyond The Ville and ChefVille, Zynga also hinted that FarmVille 2 is coming soon and announced the latest game in the With Friends series. The company also unveiled new games including Zynga Elite Slots and Ruby Blast.

Look out for a full rundown of Zynga Unleashed in our additional coverage later today.

Witcher 1 Listed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3

Ahead of CD Projekt’s pre-E3 summer conference tomorrow, listings for The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf on consoles have started to appear online. Cool Shop has listed the game for PS3, and Blockbuster has the game down on both PS3 and 360.

We know that the first Witcher game was once in development for both consoles, with production being shared across CD Projekt and Widescreen Games. The game was suspended on consoles when CDP failed to make a payment to Widescreen.

The Witcher II on Xbox 360 was released in April this year, while the PC version was out in May, 2011.
