New G.I. Joe: Retaliation Scenes to Be Shot in 3D

More information is coming to light in the wake of yesterday's news that G.I. Joe: Retaliation had been abruptly yanked from its June 29 release date and rescheduled to March 29, 2013 to allow time to convert the sequel to 3D.

The film's star Dwayne Johnson tweeted about plans for the 3D release, saying, "It will be [worth the wait]. Designing new scenes to enhance 3D."

Big Hollywood movies in 3D are still making money hand over first internationally, so that's one reason why Paramount yanked the film from its summer slot and decided to convert it to 3D.
