Citing “market reasons,” Funcom’s upcoming paranormal MMO won’t launch until July 3, two weeks after its previously announced launch date of June 19. Pre-ordering The Secret World will grant you at least one day of early access out of four, starting on June 29.
The Secret World will be Funcom’s third MMO, following Anarchy Online and Age of Conan. It features an unconventional setting for an MMO (specifically, it isn’t high fantasy), and a free-form character development system that lets you specialize in combat with swords, guns, spells and more.
Leading up to launch there’ll be a few more beta weekends in case you’re interested in checking out The Secret World pre-launch, with one running from June 15 to 17 and another from June 22 to 24. For more information on securing access, you can check out the official site.
