App Store Update: May 7

Every day hundreds of new apps make their debut on the App Store, and hundreds more are updated or reduced in price. We have sifted through the noise and highlighted those select few that might be worth your attention.

Empire Defense II – ($1.99)

Empire Defense II looks like yet another solid iOS tower defense title. This one comes from Chinese studio
Goodteam.

Luxor Evolved – ($0.99)

Mumbo Jumbo launched Luxor Evolved for $6.99 earlier this month, then promptly dropped the price to $4.99, and finally $2.99. Now the title has been discounted even further, to just $0.99. Not a nice move for early adopters, but at $0.99 the retro neon remake should be very hard to pass up.

League of Evil – ($0.99)

Ravenous Games' award-winning 2D platformer is once again on sale for just $0.99. Buy it!

League of Evil 2 – ($0.99)

While LoE 2 doesn't live up to the original, it's still one of the best platformers on iOS. It is well worth its discounted $0.99 asking price.

Batman: Arkham City Lockdown – ($2.99)

WB's one-on-one Batman brawler is once again half-off.

Zombiez! – (Free)

Zombiez! is best described as an undead-themed Lemmings. Instruct your zombies to climb, dig, build and more in order to get them safely to the exit. The App has gone free for a limited time.

Skylanders Cloud Patrol

Several new playable Skylanders have been added, including Warnado and Wham Shell. The Universal app also now supports the high-res display found in the new iPad.
